Quiet Sunday. No new AI tools launched, no price changes on anything you're paying for, and no rules changing how you run your business. So here's the best thing you can do today: get more from the ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini subscription you're already paying for.

What's the one thing worth trying this week?

Pick a task you do every week and hand it over. The three that pay back fastest for a 5-50 person business:

  • Quote follow-ups (trades, agencies): paste your last three quote emails in, ask it to learn your tone, then get it to draft a polite seven-day nudge.
  • Booking confirmations (salons, restaurants): give it your standard wording plus the booking details, get a warmer personalised message back.
  • Supplier price-rise replies (shops, hospitality): paste the supplier letter, ask for a reply that pushes back politely and asks for 30 days notice.

The trick most owners miss: paste three real examples of your own writing first. Without that, you get generic waffle. With it, you get drafts you only need to skim.

What to do next: Block 15 minutes tomorrow morning. Pick one of those three. Save the prompt that works. That's an hour a week back, every week.

One quick hit for importers: HMRC refreshed five Customs Declaration Service guidance notes yesterday, according to gov.uk. If you use a customs agent, forward the update to them and ask them to confirm they're on the latest version. If you self-declare, the "known error workarounds" note is the one to read first.

Bottom line: nothing new to buy this week — spend 15 minutes teaching the AI you already pay for to do one job properly.
